annanotbob's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Happy birthday to ya

It's been pretty hectic - although as I write that, I realise my baseline for comparison includes about fourteen hours of sleep a day and six of watching telly, but it's felt wildly social to me. I have managed to keep on a fairly even keel through most of it, with just the odd blip and brief incident of mild hysteria, quickly snatched back under control. Group and the arrival of Sammie etc tomorrow require an early night so this will be mainly pics.

Due to the clocks going back we were up early enough to get to the Sunday market which has recently moved from the station car park to the top floor of the multi-storey car park at the marina.

Sara was tempted by a hat:

and I couldn't resist this:

It has a tea light behind the fireplace, making the flames, all for a single British pound. Marvellous.

As we are down to four forks, I can't explain why I just took this picture instead of buying some, probably because I am an artist (dahlings), and can't be doing with practicalities like cutlery

On to my sister's for birthday stuff:

with birthday people. Some were 22:

Some were 89:

Ma was as sweet as anything, which she can be, and much less disoriented and frightened than when I last saw her. So that was good. She's still in hospital, but sis and I aren't asking any questions about likely developments. One way or another she'll do our heads in, so let's just take it as it comes.

Grateful for: Good family time. Yeah, very grateful for that - it was a nice day, sis was cool, the kids were great, my two came to the hospital, then we all stayed at sis's for hours, very mellow. I did cry a couple of times, but I think I got away with it.

Sweet dreams xx
