annanotbob's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm just saying

Group this morning. Still 'Assertive Communication'; today about giving and receiving feedback. More difficult than I'd expected.

Then went into town to buy a nice soft fleecy blanket for Marion for her birthday and bloody hell, it's the fucking Łab0ur prti conference down town and the place is heaving with police. The venue is the on the sea front, and all the big mulit-storey car parks are right behind it, with the shopping centre immediately beyond, all crammed right up close with not a square foot between. There was a group of cops at the entrance to the car parks below a big sign saying they were entitled to search vehicles coming in, and they were, there were two cars pulled to the side, being gone over, but they waved me through.

And do you know, I didn't notice whether or not any of them were armed. They were all in those lime green high-visibility jackets and there was lots of pacing up and down talking into radios. Very little leaning against the wall, gazing off in a day dream, listening to the squawk of the seagulls and the crashing of the waves, like in the olden days. I didn't see any politicians I recognised, just lots of men in very expensive, very clean suits. There's no one I really admire in British politics these days, which is a sad indictment. Not since Tony Benn and Mo Mowlam.

Late this afternoon I had a little spliff, put on some comedy and tidied my bedroom. I'm creeping towards gathering all my art materials together and putting them in the back room downstairs, the room with the big table and the view down my little patch of garden. I start a new art class on Thursday, with the same teacher as last year, the one who really me going. I have no idea what the format will be, but she is an actual teacher as well as an artist, so I'm hoping it will be fabulous.

I'd like to wave at hvitveis (**waves**) and say thanks for sticking with me, I can't leave a comment at yours, but I hope things are going well for you.

And now here's some Tim Minchin, which I have posted before, but it made me laugh just as much this time, so here he is again, looking pretty damn hot for a straight guy:

Sweet dreams
