annanotbob's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hola. Hola Francesca. Yesterday we went to the tiny beach down the hill:
and snorkelled along the cove, almost to the open sea:
This was bliss up to a point - the point at which I realised there was nowhere to get out of the water and the current was strong and I didn't feel as if I could make it back to the beach. Idiot woman. As you can tell, I did make it, but I TOTALLY freaked out, which was a new experience, freaking out in deep water.
Swimming with the fishes - I kept thinking of Tony Soprano. A good strong wind got up in the evening and at last I could have a spliff (very stinky grass, needs the wind to blow the smell away nice and quick). I realised how reliant I am on the weed to help the words flow - these entries all feel a bit stilted, a bit 'what I did on my holidays' - although that could be because I write sitting in a bar surrounded by weirdness. Anyway, I went for a stroll, taking pictures of the moon, which all came out very blurry because they needed so much time, but I quite liked them:
Today Hil and Bob are getting married and I wish them all the very best. Also my boy Renny is moving to London, a thought which fills my eyes with tears, even here in this public place. Good thoughts for him too, my darling prodigal son. Now we're going to attempt to find a bank machine as we have just 3 euros in cash - enough to catch the bus into town. I wish Sara would have a spliff with me, it loosens up the old inhibitions and makes everything slide into proportion. I mean, OK, this is a pretty crap place in many ways, but fuck it. We did have a game of ping pong in the swimming pool in the dark yesterday evening, in front of a bloody crowd, gazing from their balconies. But ultimately I AM BORED. I don't care about places - I like holidays where you go and stay with someone you love and spend the time talking. It's cool to see other stuff as well, while you're with someone, but in the end, I don't give a fuck about sight-seeing. Ah well. Sara read 'The Kite Runner' from beginni8ng to end last night. Now it's nearly 1 am and time to wake her up. |11:33 a.m. - 05/09/2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
