Well it all ended in tears. Mine, of course.
The poor little dog just made me feel increasingly agitated and demented until Jane pointed out that this was meant to be a two day trial period and I could take him back. So I did.
And my little cat came home and has been close by ever since:
If I ever moan about her again, shoot me. Now I'm going to take lots of drugs and sleep sleep sleep
