annanotbob's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We live round here too Just watched the final sing-off of American Idol - results tomorrow, though I'll be out, seeing Jarvis. It'll be repeated on Sunday, but I won't read anyone I know watches it till I've seen who won. I thought Archuleta was best, but that Cookie has a lot of very keen fans, so who knows. It all made me think of lovely Will Young, first pop idol winner:
Sara's a good girl - she's got a lot of her own stuff going on and living with me is no picnic. Likewise I'm OK, but with a lot of my own stuff going on and living with her is no fucking picnic either. Not nice though, fighting like that - I was really shaken up by it and I think she was too. I realise I've put my pictures in the wrong order, and I'm not about to try any cutting and pasting, so - in the middle of the day today I went over to Highdown Gardens, which are just lovely:
I'd taken the garden table and chairs over to Adam, Sara's ex BF, as he works in a powder-coating shop over in the same direction as the gardens. It was so good to see him, but weird. He lived in our house with Sara for over two years and seeing him, I just wanted to give him a big hug and sit on the old sofa with him, shouting at the telly. Ah well. This is the space in the garden where the table was, and just a little box of plants from another of my favourite nurseries. Lots of wall suddenly appeared:
I still have two big tubs to plant up and put outside the front door and another big green-glazed pot that's going to have some kind of fabulous rose. I bought some runner bean seeds the other day, not really knowing where to put them. I've decided to plant two seeds in each of five 'long tom' pots and put them along the side of the shed. But I'm going to paint the shed first - well, before the beans have grown to tall to move around. I want to make it a shed of beauty, but I don't know what colours are available for outdoor wood, non-gloss. This morning I went to the craft group and finished my pillow:
Well, I finished it just now actually as I wanted to fill it with dried beans and they didn't have any there. Mung beans and lavender flowers, for laying over the eyes during yoga relaxation, or any bloody relaxation. Nice. I'm starting to make friends with some of the other women at the craft and writing groups. Smokers of course - we go out for a fag half way through and are gradually starting to trust each other a bit. Nice women. All part of the jigsaw of finding a way to live this life. So, Jarvis tomorrow, talking about songwriting: But that will be after phase 2 of both Anna Claims Benefits and Anna Tells her Lifestory to The Nice Nurse. I can hardly wait. Today I am grateful for: Kind words from kind people; m&s pies (again); roses and runner beans; smelly, runny cheese; back in my flip-flops Sweet dreams xxx 9:02 p.m. - 22/05/2008 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
